WELCOME!The Athens Banner Herald/Sportsman Living Outdoor Show(OS) is dedicated to positively impacting the local and statewide economies through increased exposure and tourism; to showcase the finest outdoor products available in the Southeast; to invest in and positively influence wildlife and nature education through specialized programming; and to assist in creating awareness of both local and regional companies, and bringing them together with like minded attendees.
The OS plays a dual role in North Georgia. As an event, its economic impact is unparalleled in the region, bringing life to the area at a traditionally slow time for the Athens tourism industry. In addition, the OS provides the public with affordable access to promotional, cultural and educational opportunities as they pertain to wildlife and nature conservation and preservation. Its programs underscore the need for educating ourselves and our children about the conservation and preservation of our wild and natural resources.
Through sponsors, exhibitors, lectures, school programs, and financial giving, the OS increases wildlife awareness and brings to light an appreciation for the beauty of nature which is increasingly taken for granted. Along with great activities and exhibitor displays, the OS presents a forum which brings environmental morality "home" and personalizes our exposure to conservation and environmental issues. The OS is working to make our region aware of our natural treasures, and of the need to protect and preserve them for the future.
